15 Happy Hour Specials to Try In Chicago Now

Happy hour specials are important. The discounted prices are a great tool to bring Chicagoans into bars and restaurants no matter the weather. It’s been almost three years since state lawmakers legalized happy hour, lifting obsolete restrictions that prevented restaurant and bar owners from offer discounts on alcoholic drinks.

River Roast, 315 N. LaSalle Drive

This adored riverside bar and restaurant from Tony Mantuano launched a new happy hour special this summer called “Champagne & Chicken.” For $35, diners get a bottle house sparkling wine and fried chicken “gobbets” with honey. The restaurant’s popular $35 rose and oysters combo remains on the menu, along with a range of a la carte dishes and drinks. A rotating house cocktail is available for $7, along with a $5 revolving beer option and $6 glasses of house wines. The full menu is available below.

Happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Sunday.
